There are only a few situations in life that have definite responses. Talking to the police is a mandatory “no”. Most people get tricked into believing that talking to the police will help their case. The police will say, “only someone guilty would refuse to talk” or “I really want to help get you out of this mess”. They are all lies. The only goal of the police is to build their case. You are in an interrogation for a reason, they suspect you did a crime. “Less is more” should always be followed when dealing with law enforcement. Speaking to the police can turn an innocent quote into a “confession”.
When in a position where your freedom is at stake, the goal is to talk less and hire an attorney who can fight for your rights. The police are not there to help you once you become a suspect. They want to manipulate any words you say into a confession. They will attempt to ask leading questions which seem vague but under the eyes of the law may constitute acknowledgement of a crime.
Protect yourself with less speaking and allow an attorney to fight for your rights and freedom.
